is a dynamic, travelling cultural event that celebrates the rich heritage and continuous evolution of kizomba culture.
It debuted at the 35th São Paulo Biennial in 2023 with its inaugural event, "Gesture #1," showcasing the vibrant interplay between time and creativity. The forthcoming "Gesture #2" is scheduled for November 2024 in Rio de Janeiro.
KDM’s mission is to preserve and showcase the vibrant history of Kizomba culture. Providing a contextualized view of the origins, evolution, and social significance of Kizomba originating from the African Portuguese-speaking countries and its diaspora, the platform intends to become a dynamic space for Kizomba research and cultural study worldwide.
